Workshop Skill Levels
The skill level of this workshop is considered intermediate through advanced which is levels 2, 3, and 4 in Edmonton.
Intermediate: Levels 2 & 3
This is our intermediate levels, which means:
- You know the swing out well, triple-steps are easy, and can follow/lead decently complex swing moves.
- You've been social dancing Lindy Hop for awhile (> 6 months).
- You've taken 12+ swing dance lessons.
- Equivalent to 1.5 and 2.0 in Calgary.
Advanced: Level 4
This is our advanced level, which means:
- You've been dancing consistently for a long time (> 2-½ years).
- You have put in lots of effort to really improve over the last year.
- Dancing entire songs at extreme tempos (>240 and <100) dancing strictly Lindy is enjoyable.
- You study the swing-out in your spare time, love the basics, and syncopate everything.
- You lead clearly, with your body. You follow subtle variations and move with fluidity and style.
Confused? If you’re not sure which level you should be in, please speak with Julie or Birkley in Edmonton or Jo in Calgary. We want to make sure everyone gets the most out of these workshops. If we are unsure about your level, we may ask you to have an informal audition dance with one of the instructors.

It's always about the fundamentals! Todd and Ramona will break you apart, break you down, focus on the nitty-gritty, and build you back up again. Look forward to a Lindy overhaul!

Balboa so silky smooth! This intermediate Balboa class will work on some sweet moves and great ways to improve your Bal. It's assumed you already know some Bal before entering this class.

Jazz and the Beanstalk
What weekend would be complete without a feel-good solo jazz class? At first suggestion, Ramona JUMPED at the chance to teach this. I'm excited to see what they show us.
Silver Shadow Faves
Here you'll find some of the most favourite moves performed by the members of the elite performance troupe "The Silver Shadows", of which our instructors are a part of.
Advanced Classes
The advanced classes are meant to challenge those who are at an advanced level, ie, level 4. Classes at this level are fast-paced, so one must be prepared to handle all other 6 classes in addition to these. As well, the concepts and moves taught will require extremely good connection, rhythm, and body movement.
Spins and Turns Ho-down
Spins and turns can get complex real fast. Have you ever watched Todd or Ramona dance? You know what I'm talkin about. Inevitably, this class will help you improve your ability to lead and follow some cool stuff.
Fancy Footwork
Inspired by Todd's DVD "Fancy Footwork", this class will delve into some tricky footwork variations on top of many old moves you know.
