Class Series and Levels
Flexibility is important. As noted before, some classes repeat every 4 weeks, so you only have to wait 4 weeks for the next series. If want to advance quickly, you can take more than 1 class at a time!
To make things simple, the following table summarizes the levels and requirements.
Be advised that this scheme acts as a guide and that some classes (such as Charleston, Lindy, or Balboa) will be offered at a beginner level.
| Class Series | Level | Previous training required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jitterbug Swing 1A | 1 | None | Recommended for Beginners |
| Jitterbug Swing 1B | 1 | None | Recommended for Beginners |
| Lindy Hop 2A | 2 | Jitterbug Swing 1 | Theme: Technique and Moves |
| Lindy Hop 2B | 2 | Jitterbug Swing 1 | Theme: Fun and Feel |
| Lindy Hop 2C | 2 | Jitterbug Swing 1 | Theme: Bodyworks |
| Lindy Hop 3A | 3 | Lindy 2A,2B, and 2C | Theme: Jam Circles |
| Lindy Hop 3B | 3 | Lindy 2A,2B, and 2C | Theme: Advanced Technique and Moves |
| Lindy Hop 3C | 3 | Lindy 2A,2B, and 2C | Theme: Footwork and Connection |
If you struggle in 1A, then take 1B (and vice-versa). But, taking either 1A or 1B qualifies you to move to Level 2 immediately. At Level 2, you must complete all three series before qualifying for Level 3.
Example progression: 1B -> Lindy 2C -> Lindy 2A -> Lindy 2B -> Lindy 3A -> ...
