Class Descriptions
Jitterbug Swing 1
A mix of 6-count Jive and Lindy Hop, this class is recommended for beginners and anyone without dance experience. This is a great introduction to the basic steps, fundamental moves, partner connection, rhythm, and musicality.
Jitterbug Swing 2
This three-part series is the next step of learning how to really swing dance. Now that you have learned the basics of Lindy Hop and Swing, you will learn material that will allow you to dance more comfortably. By now, you will have realized that swing dancing is no cake walk! If you have previous lindy hop experience or have taking Lindy Hop I, this class is for you.
Note: You may take Jitterbug Swing and Lindy Hop 2 simultaneously.
Lindy Hop Practice
Lindy Hop Practice is an informal practice session provided to the swing dance community. It is an open session where dancers come, share their moves and skills, and have the opportunity to ask Birk or Julie for help. The cost is absolutely FREE! However, you are encouraged to donate like $4 or $5 to help us cover the overhead that a dance club entails (room rental, advertising, etc)

Lindy Hop is challenging but very rewarding, always enjoyable, and you learn all the fundamentals of partnered dancing. It encorporates tap, jazz, musicality, slow-to-fast tempos, brilliant moves, and everything in-between. Did we mention that it is incredible to watch?
Jitterbug Jive, is easy to learn and very exciting to do. Our instructors love to dance and teach this dance, for those reasons alone. With just a few classes, you'll be dancing like a pro!
Charleston is a classic partnered dance - in fact, it is an ancestor of all swing dances today. It's a very rhythmic dance that gets you right into that old-school mood. Charleston is characterized by a lot of flash; there are lots of kicks, it's bouncy, and FAST. Charleston is taught in Option II and Lindy IIIb. Click here to see it!
The dance Balboa, born on the West coast of the US in the 20's, is done with two partners pressed up right into each other! It's not a 'dirty' nor romantic dance - in fact, it is done to save energy and space on the dance floor. If you want to see it, jump over to the video links page.
Blues dancing is typically danced to nice, slow, groovy blues music. It can be quite a stationary dance, but there is a tonne of stuff that happens on that spot of the floor.
